The Role:
Group Technical Authority (Electrical)


Purpose:


  • To be the functional leader for electrical engineering and will work with the Group Head of Technical Assurance to set group policy.

  • ABP's official voice on detailed technical matters, representing
    ABP externally on technical bodies shaping industry practice.
  • Deal with regulators and other bodies to ensure
    ABP has good technical practice, that people are competent technically, and that our policies & procedures are adequate and are complied with.

Accountabilities:


  • Development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Group's asset management and engineering systems, policies, procedures and other controls in response to business need and identified risks.
  • Understand external legislation & regulation, and translate into group policy/procedures, to direct regional teams to act in matters of technical safety to protect people and the company.
  • Monitor, review and provide assurance reports relating to Regional compliance and implementation of the Group asset management policies, procedures and other controls.
  • Ensure
    ABP remains knowledgeable about innovation in the field of asset management and electrical engineering and be proactive in achieving continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Regional Asset Management teams to ensure that asset master data is robust and the scheduling and planning of inspection and maintenance interventions are to common standards across the regions, and continuously improved to meet internal and external best practice standards.
  • Work with the Group Engineering and Asset Management team to identify and deploy technology and innovation to support the delivery of the Group's strategic business plan.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong technical gravitas and technical track record in comparable high hazard industries.
  • Experience in asset management and maintenance in an asset intensive industry.
  • Experience developing, deploying and continuously improving asset management and engineering maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and accredited standards.

Desirable

  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Proven track record of managing physical infrastructure and equipment in an accredited management system.
  • Knowledge and experience in asset management and engineering governance systems in a highly regulated and/or safety critical environment.
  • Experience working with assets modules in an Enterprise Resource Planning system.
