Downham Home & Garden is one of Norfolk's largest Home & Garden Centre retailers.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:


Working with teams of experienced and specialist individuals, you will have an opportunity to learn about various aspects of the role of a Horticultural Operative, with a view to further training and development after your apprenticeship.

You are not expected to have any particular horticultural knowledge or experience, but this would be an advantage.

You will, however, be expected to demonstrate an interest in and understanding of the nature of the role.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
If you love the outdoors, nature and plants, this is a perfect opportunity for you.

Joining Downham Home & Garden, you will start your horticultural career as an apprentice, with a range of duties to include:

  • Pruning
  • Leaf clearing
  • Weeding
  • Deadheading of flowers
  • Planting
And other duties as required.


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Willingness to undertake the full apprenticeship training programme and any other training required to enhance your development
  • 5 GCSE's including Maths/English grades 94 or equivalent
