Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client as a Trainee Buyer/Internal Salesperson. Wesco is a supplier of outsourced procurement and supply chain services.

As it is a dual role including both buying and internal sales, it will provide great variety. This an excellent chance to move into a new career path without direct experience and learn on the job.

Key responsibilities:

Negotiates contract elements, including terms and conditions, pricing, and leadtime.
Manages suppliers' performance, including support, development and monitoring of supplier performance metrics.
Evaluates new suppliers for the approved supplier list following company procedure
Owns, qualifies and develops new opportunities passed from Global Accounts and ensures purchasing strategies are aligned with key customer initiatives and metrics.
Serves as customer contact on RFQ/ orders, queries, challenges and supply chain issues.
Prepares, generates, and follows up on written quotations to secure orders, or determine reason for loss of order.
Provides regular customer feedback and KPI's to Manager and Global Account Manager.
Analyses and determines supply chain strategies for maintaining high customer service at the lowest total ownership costs that are effective and efficient
Functions as team leader and facilitator for supplier and customer negotiations or meetings
Develops and maintains professional knowledge regarding the market drivers, market trends, economic forecasts, supplier base, and competitive intelligence.
