Owing to continued growth stemming from project wins we are actively recruiting for a specialist contractor who have cemented a well-earned reputation as the market leader providing turnkey solutions for overhead line electrifications to the rail industry.
This is a business who not only have the advantage of holding Principal Contractor status, but also have access to the wider rail market providing subcontract services to clients who service the sector - they really are the leader of the sector
As part of their continued growth, they are looking to recruit a HSQE Advisor to join their operations team on a permanent basis.
You'll be working with an established teamto ensure key metrics are met throughout the construction phase of their works and that the team demonstrate the highest levels of health & safety at all times.
As part of your responsibilities, you'll be required to:- Promote a strong health, safety, environment and quality ethos across the leadership teams.
- Provide accurate data and reports to the wider business on legislative issues as well as "best practice" policy.
- Ensure staff adhere to company procedures and assist this by providing the require resources to all team members. This will include implementing company wider communications, training, evaluations and competency based assessments.
- Assist the division manager in understanding where there are areas of development and be a key figure in presenting ideas to senior management in how to improve on these areas.
- Carry out investigations as and when required, ensuring timely and accurate reports are provided.
- Support the behavioural safety and culture change programme.
- A working background in civil engineering environment
- note rail industry experience would be advantageous but not necessary.
- 24 years experience working in a health & safety advisor role.
- NEBOSH certificate as a minimum.
- Experience working with leadership teams to deliver change in H&S procedures
- Champion of health & safety standards in all aspects of your work.
- Full driving licence.
- Forward thinking attitude to H&S culture.
- Willingness to travel to sites across Scotland.
