Overview

We're looking for a Technical Artist to join Silent Games, a Double A game development studio based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with a focus on RPG games that give players a sense of autonomy, mastery and purpose.

As a Technical Artist, you'd be collaborating with our existing 3D Art team to ensure that the game's visual elements are well optimised and visually impressive.

The role includes creating and implementing tools and workflows to support the team as well as working in Unreal Engine 5 to profile and optimise the game.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the art and development teams to create optimised art assets that meet technical and artistic requirements.
  • Develop and maintain art pipelines and workflows, including asset creation and optimisation, asset management, and file organisation.
  • Create and implement tools to improve the art production process and workflow, including automation scripts and custom plugins.
  • Provide technical support for artists, troubleshooting issues related to Unreal Engine 5, and developing solutions to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the programming team to develop and implement new engine features and systems to support art production.
  • Stay uptodate with the latest industry trends and tools to ensure that our art pipeline is cuttingedge and optimised for performance.
  • Ensure all systems and processes are well documented.

Requirements:


  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 and experience working on game development projects using the engine.
  • Excellent understanding of game art production pipelines and workflows, including asset creation, optimisation, and management.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise work effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.

Desirables

  • Passion for Action RPG games.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, such as C++, Python, or Blueprints.
  • Proficiency in Houdini.

Qualifications:

You must be able to work in the UK, we do not provide VISA sponsorships for this role.
