Do you have Production Supervisory experience gained within the packaging industry? If so, our client, a leading manufacturing company located in the Chelmsford area are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor on a permanent basis.

The company supply paper-based products across the UK to a variety of industries.

If you have previous experience supervising a team, then this friendly professional company with good working conditions and room for progression will want to hear about you.

Duties:

Working in a team to manufacture bespoke, small batch corrugated and paperbased products
Reporting to the Production Manager running a small team coaching, counselling and disciplining employees as required
Be aware of job times and workflow to get the best results, communicating job expectations to staff
Maximize output, control departmental costs, removal of downtime and minimize overtime.
Generate and carry out improvement activities
Planning monitoring and appraising job results
Ensuring company quality standards and procedures are adhered to
Managing holidays and monitoring Time and Attendance to ensure that all key metrics are met.
Must have previous supervisory experience gained within a factory environment
Must be able to lead from the front, hands on
Previous experience of corrugated machinery would be preferred
A working knowledge of heading up an autonomous department involving production planning, care of machinery and quality of the teams output is required.
Knowledge of packaging materials, wood, foam etc would be an advantage
Experience of small batch manufacture and/or a basic knowledge of flexographic printing would be a benefit
A forklift licence would also be useful
Some computer/administration skills are required
