Head of Finance - UK


Position Overview:
Provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure that the Group's financial commitments are met.


Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the Group and Company's business.

Establish a rapport and build confidence within the Company through effective communication with the senior management in all other departments.

Provide financial leadership and vision to the senior management that advances the Group's pursuits of driving additional business value. Model and advance the Company's values.


Essential Job Functions:
Business Partner to Managing Director

  • Challenging and debating business ideas and investment strategies
  • Providing business analysis and financial information on a timely basis
  • Monitoring business performance and providing understanding behind the numbers to drive performance improvement through the businesses.
  • Support General Manager in the conduct of their duties
  • Support business change initiatives
  • Evaluation of Commercial Opportunities
Financial Accounting and Financial Management

  • Work closely will all functional areas of the business to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Lead all financial planning and analysis (FP&A) including forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management.
  • Manage the Finance function
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Group with relevant commentary with the reporting timetables.
  • Manage the annual Audit process and preparation of Statutory Financial Statements.
  • Analysing / Reporting various KPI Metrics
  • Planning and organising of various meetings
  • Commercial / Senior Management and recording matters arising within the relevant minutes.
  • Understanding of preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
  • Responsible for Company taxation matters with third party support.
  • Responsible for legal and compliance matters.
  • Commercial contract review and input to commercial matters e.g. customer pricing.
  • Detailed knowledge of Product Costing and Bill of Materials.
  • Preparation and review of major capital expenditure proposals.
  • Responsible for developing / managing relationship with external stakeholders such as Bank, Auditors and Solicitors.
  • Review and management of business insurance.
  • Ongoing development of the Finance / IT Team.
  • Ensure proper control environment to ensure reliability of the financial statements
  • Provision of detailed financial information to other functional areas of the business to aid decision making.
  • Any other adhoc task as required.
  • Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with financial leadership experience.
  • Prior experience in ERP systems integration desirable.
  • Experience of business strategy highly desirable.
  • High level of business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Selfmotivated yet a strong 'team player'.
  • Excellent communicator with outstanding influencing / negotiating skills
  • Able to build and maintain strategic relationships
  • Advanced spreadsheet knowledge.
