We are looking for a permanent Caretaker, _
PART TIME HOURS WILL BE CONSIDERED_


Band 5 SCP - 6

Starting Salary £21,189 - £21,968 pro rata, 35 hours per week

You will need:

Previous experience in working in a Caretaker related role

Good communication skills and a team player

To be good at developing strong working relationships with employees, maintenance support agencies and contractors

A strong understanding of health and safety processes

To be driven to ensuring a clean, safe working environment for children, staff and visitors

As a Caretaker, you will on a daily basis:
Ensure health and safety obligations are met and adhere to statutory compliance for the premises.

Lock/Unlock the school and carry out security checks on the building.

Look after all hard and soft services facilities management including planned and reactive maintenance.

Assist in leading the cleaning team to ensure the school remains clean, tidy and always safe to be open.

Undertake cleaning duties to support your team.

Provide maintenance and repairs on site indoors and outdoors.

Handle and move deliveries.

Contacting and Supporting contractors on site.

Ensure that all contractual obligations are achieved on a monthly or annual basis.

Build relationships, working closely with the Headteacher, Operations Manager and Site Manager to ensure the school's needs are met.

Appropriate training will be provided including; fire warden training, working at heights training etc.

Visits to school are warmly welcomed by arrangement; please ring the school office to make an appointment.

PRIME OBJECTIVES OF THE POST:

Under the instruction/guidance of appropriate senior staff; provide maintenance & security services on school sites & premises.

EFFORT DEMANDS:


  • Will work under own initiative with minimum supervision, managing conflicting priorities and referring only complex issues to a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Will be responsible for the development and operation of a preventative planned maintenance programme and for routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, fittings, furniture, premises and grounds to assess for work or repairs required to be carried out to maintain safe and satisfactory conditions (including fire safety and electrical equipment).
  • Will undertake the procurement and ordering of associated stocks and supplies ensuring that there are adequate levels at all times. Taking delivery and arranging for the storage of materials, stores and other goods.
