The role
As the Head of Strategy, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

You'll lead the development of the Mission Systems strategy and be the day-to-day focal point to senior leaders and business development colleagues in helping to shape and form the future direction of the business to enable the delivery of our ambitious growth targets.


In this role, you'll:

  • Oversee the daytoday ownership of all strategy related activities within Missions Systems, including leadership of the strategy team
  • Identify, assess, and deliver the strategic growth options for Mission Systems
  • Ensure coherence of the strategy into action across the business to deliver against the plan, through participation and review of business development campaigns, key bids and enduring project delivery
  • Generate the annual strategy submission to Group, participation in wider Babcock strategic initiatives
  • Generate portfolio management options to better prioritise Mission systems capabilities, resources and budgets.

Essential experience of the Head of Strategy,

  • Ability to identify, quantify and develop strategic options for the business
  • Demonstrable experience of leading high performing multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in business capture, solution development and business development with demonstrable success in previous roles
  • Experience in planning and budgeting


This role provides hybrid working with one to two days per week in the office and the rest working from home.


Qualifications for the Head of Strategy,

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant Business or Engineering discipline or equivalent relevant professional experience. Business Masters degree preferable.
