Role Purpose


To provide efficient and effective caretaking support to Woodwater House including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards through a program of preventative, routine, and reactive maintenance.


Role Requirements & Responsibilities

Main Duties


Responsible for the care and maintenance of Woodwater House, either by undertaking maintenance tasks or by supervising contractors to undertake the work, all in accordance with safe working practices.


Operational Excellence

  • To undertake building and maintenance duties as required.
  • To engage and supervise Contractors to undertake specialist tasks, within budgetary and policy restrictions.
  • To undertake painting and decorating as required.
  • To clean light fittings and test lighting systems where necessary
  • To clear blockages from toilets, sinks, drains and kitchen grease traps, and clean up spillages as required.
  • Undertake Legionella / water temperature testing and system flushing as required
  • To ensure heating/cooling plant and equipment is effectively and efficiently operating, and report defects to the Facilities Manager.
  • To ensure that gullies, drains etc. are kept free from debris and that the building and grounds are litter free
  • To dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner ensuring that it is available for collection by the contractor when required.
  • To look after the firm's van, including monthly checks of engine oil and water, and general cleanliness inside and out.
  • To provide efficient and effective caretaking support to Woodwater House including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards through a program of preventative, routine, and reactive maintenance.

Service Excellence

  • To undertake any adhoc cleaning as requested by the Facilities Manager.
  • To be responsible for ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access to the building, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
  • To undertake porterage tasks as required, including setting up and clearing away furniture, occasional local deliveries, and the daily bankrun.

Marketing, Sales, and Communication

  • Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and colleagues across the Firm.

Management and Leadership

  • To attend and supervise, where necessary, personnel visiting the site such as Contractors.
  • Develop and share own knowledge with others.
  • Contribute positively at team meetings.

Financial Management

  • To keep accurate records and costings associated with all jobs.
  • Ensure that work is done accurately first time, to maximise feeearning capacity.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Relevant experience of working as a caretaker, and or tradesperson background.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety at Work.
  • A good standard of general education.
  • Trade qualification (desirable)
  • Clean, valid driving licence

  • A strong commitment to high quality customer service.
  • An ability to use ladders where necessary.
