In relation to this post, the Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplant surgery team consists of 8 full time consultants who deliver services across Yorkshire and the North-West region

The service currently delivers:

Around 150 Adult & Paediatric Liver Transplantation with scope to do 175 transplants a year
Around 200 Organ Retrievals
Over 300 Liver Resections
Active Live Donor Liver Transplant Program for Adult & Paediatric recipients within NHS 2. OBJECTIVES OF THE POST To support the delivery of Liver Transplantation, Organ Retrieval (NORS) and General Surgery services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and achieve and sustain performance against key national waiting time standards. To contribute to the role of Leeds as a training centre for Transplant surgery To improve the efficiency and productivity of the Transplant surgical service To help sustain Leeds as a centre of excellence in specialist care.

To provide support and clinical expertise to the teams based in referring centres To maintain and develop clinical research in Transplant surgery To contribute to and improve the quality of Undergraduate and Postgraduate training in Liver transplant and Organ retrievals To improve the quality of care and increase the scope for innovation To participate in a 1:8 Liver Transplant Consultant on-call rota to provide in-hours and out-of-hours transplant and organ retrieval service.
