Do you have both contracting and housebuilding experience?

A number of new opportunities have arisen for the same company, one of which is for an experienced and knowledgeable contracts manager with a background in the residential field.

Working for one of the most talked about names in the industry currently (for good reason) you will be welcomed into an experienced team, who have managed to secure a number of key employees into the business and are now looking to expand due to new sites starting.

You will oversee a number of sites and sites teams of varying sizes. Sites could range from 40 apartments up to500-units.

Reporting to the head of operations in the Exeter office, you will spend the majority of your time visiting your sites in Dorset andapprox 1 day a week in the office.


Summary of key duties (not exhausted, JD can be provided):

  • Preparing contract reports to inc programme and operational matters
  • Monthly internal project report & Monthly Client Report
  • Supply data for monthly board report &Two weekly project updates to Senior management
  • Build Sales report
  • Organise and manage Site Teams & oversee Health and Safety
  • Quality control & Cost control
  • Safety performance & Precontract planning
  • Monitoring production levels and instigating necessary action
  • Responsible for all on site activities and for prestart coordination
  • Ensure contracts are completed to budget and within timescale
  • Be aware of Customer needs and maintain Customer and Client relationships to encourage ongoing works
  • Assist with tenders and presentations
  • Leading and motivating Site Managers, and Site Teams including direct operatives and apprentices.
  • Monitor safety performance and implement any required remedial measures.
  • Monitor production levels and instigate any necessary measures to achieve programme targets.
  • Ensure that roads and sewers are adopted and bonds cancelled as early as possible.

About you:


You will need to be a commercially astute and contractually aware individual, who is accustomed to working at a senior level and reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.

This is a client facing role and you will need to present yourself in professional mannerand be confident, firm and fair in your approach.


Experienced in the below is required:

  • Planning and programming
  • Detailed knowledge of NHBC Regulations and Building Regulations
  • Knowledge of good trade practice
  • Knowledge of road and sewer construction
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
  • Microsoft Package

Salary and package:

As expected in the current market the package is competitive plus
