Enterprise Process Excellence Planning and Reporting Lead
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Process Excellence
London or York or Lisbon - Hybrid working (circa 2 days a week in the office)
The Role
Process Excellence will play a critical role in enabling Hiscox to drive forward its operational maturity agenda - reducing inefficiency and driving scalability, improving customer and employee satisfaction, and driving greater control.
Process Excellence is a core capability for the organisation in the coming years and, as a result, a new Enterprise Process Excellence (EPX) function is being established at the Group level to drive forward this agenda, as part of the Group Operations and Change area.
The EPX Planning and Reporting Lead will- Work with the Head of Process Excellence to establish the core measures and KPIs to track existing and analyse future areas for process improvement initiatives ensuring commercial value is delivered
- Share the measures and KPI dashboard with the Process Excellence community and more widely where appropriate across Hiscox globally. These should demonstrate that benefits are being delivered and that the ongoing enhancement to the operational maturity of Hiscox is being achieved.
- Lead and support the use of the measures and KPIs required to analyse, track and embed continuous improvements targeted to deliver commercial value
- planning, prioritisation, funding and budget management for the EPX initiatives
- pipeline and demand management from across the Group for EPX resource and capability
- monitoring of the portfolio of EPX initiatives for compliance, quality and risk
- Should capacity permit, deliver process improvement initiatives within in Business Unit or Group Function in an efficient and effective manner.
There will be the need as part of the Group Process Excellence team to be hands on in delivering process excellence projects to support in areas where this capability does not exist today and be involved in the day to day building of the process excellence skill set.
- Create the oversight and tracking of all process excellence efforts across Business Units and Group Functions to demonstrate the delivery of business benefits
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the measures and KPIs are fit for purpose and track business benefit realisation
- Analyse current process performance and key performance indicators across the business units and group functions
- Using a measures / KPI dashboard, identify and prioritise opportunities for process improvement, automation and standardisation
- Ensure the portfolio of process excellence initiatives align to and support wider business objectives and customer needs
- Support with the planning, prioritisation, funding and budget management for the EPX initiatives; the pipeline and demand management from across the Group for EPX resource and capability; the monitoring of the portfolio of EPX initiatives for compliance, quality and risk
- Where capacity allows, lead the implementation of process improvements for some areas where agreed with the Business Units and Group Functions.
- Provide guidance and support to process excellence teams and champions across the organisation
- Through the above promote and embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Some key attributes we are looking for include:
- Degree in a related field or certified in Lean Six Sigma (ideally Black Belt but would consider Green Belt)
- 5+ years of experience in process improvement or operational excellence roles. However, those with less experience but the right level of knowledge will naturally be considered.
- Experience of building a process excellence measures and KPIs
- Ability to establish asis and tobe processes and customer/user journey's, perform root cause analysis, problem solve and implement process change
- Experience of operating in an international matrix environment and a grasp of insurance and/or financial services is ideal
- Strong analytical skills; an ability to analyse and leverage data insights
- Proficient in using process excellence and automation technology e.g. process mapping, mining, tracking and analysis
- Strong communications skills and ability to influence and collaborate with crossfunctional teams
- Experience of leading and delivering successful process excellence projects
