Description

The Department:

The Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience (PDN) is a large, friendly Department based on the Downing site in central Cambridge.

We are engaged in teaching and research across a wide range of biological sciences - from cell and developmental biology, through cellular and animal physiology to systems neurosciences and human anatomy.

We offer a welcoming work environment where you can feel valued, encouraged to develop, and supported to achieve your full potential.

The Role:

As the Department's principal Receptionist, you will deliver a welcoming and efficient front of house service to staff, visitors and students.

You will manage enquiries to the Department, assist with some events and catering, and provide general administrative support to a small number of senior staff.

This opportunity would suit someone looking to develop their skills in these areas and learn how an academic department operates on a day-to-day basis.

About you:

You will be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent (as a minimum), and have some experience of working within a reception, general office or clerical setting.

You will have strong communication and customer-service skills, combined with good organisational, administrative and IT skills (for administrative purposes).
