Motion Control Manufacturing Manager

Xpert Resourcing are pleased to be working with a leading Engineering company who are looking to appoint a manufacturing manager within Motion Control.

We are looking for a progressive, Critical thinker with a STEM background and excellent problem-solvingskills.

This role will be responsible for a large multi-disciplinary team of skilled technicians, a collaborative approach to leadership and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.

STEM related degree (or equivalent)
Critical thinking and problemsolving skills
Team Leading abilities with communication skills to train, mentor and present ideas
An appreciation of LEAN manufacturing techniques, quality improvement and strategies
Understanding of improvement techniques such as value stream and process mapping
An understanding of MRP / ERP data systems as applied to production
Experience in troubleshooting
Organised and able to manage multiple projects
Willing to travel to support customer and showcase products at trade shows

Responsibilities:

Leadership (40% focus)

Communicate goals and objectives to team members
Ensure performance appraisals are carries out with any training requirements
Develop strategies to promote best practice
Ensure that H&S guidelines are followed, and all concerns are dealt with promptly
General management of the team including return to work interviews & disciplinary issues

Functional (60% focus)

Working collaboratively with Business Unit leader and control manager to ensure project adheres to best practice and all customer requirements
Ensure operational excellence in terms of People, process, production quality and efficiency with a particular focus on visual controls, H&S and associated accountability
Review production and quality metrics such as MES build trends, RMAs, production rejects and failed product inspections developing action plans for improvement
Work with shop floor leadership to develop SOPs
Work with planners to ensure accurate and clear production targets are communicated to the team leaders
Support the sales and technical support teams with customer issues and be the customer point of contact
Collaborate with the engineering group
