Description

The individual will be required to work waking nights Monday to Sunday (on a bi-weekly rota basis) and an average of circa 38.5 hours per week. The shift patterns will be 4 x 11-hour shifts for 4 days one week 3 x 11 hour shifts the following week.

About the role


As a Support Worker, you will be providing day to day care and support to adults with mental health, physical and learning difficulties whilst respecting the individuals preferences and choices.


You will be key to their wellbeing, working with them to ensure they can manage their mental health along with regaining the skills needed to maintain a tenancy, day to day living, and engaging with the community.

Whilst you may be assigned tenants, with whom you will have regular key working sessions; you will also be required to work flexibly across the Service.


You will enhance the lives of our tenants, support their families and be an integral part of a wider support network both within the organisation and community.

Our tenants will need support with daily living tasks such as cooking, personal care, appointments, medication, and money management.

You will help encourage and support them to re-learn skills and tackle new ones in a safe and supportive environment.


You will celebrate every step our tenants take on their path to greater independence, no matter how small they are.

Supporting them through difficult times whilst learning from your colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary team.


You will need to be prepared to be flexible and work a 24 / 7 rota including sleeps ins, waking nights (where applicable), weekends and bank holidays.


Each of our services has its own character and our team are fundamental in creating a happy and trusting culture which our tenants are proud to call home.


This role will be based in one of services in Rotherham namely Pheonix House, which will provide a secure and safe home to our tenants to enable them to regain the skills to live independently.


What you'll need to succeed


This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has an interest in mental health and is looking to either start or continue their career in adult social care.


The key is the ability to demonstrate a passion to deliver excellent service to vulnerable adults in a dignified manner.

You will need to be able to work independently as well as within a team, and have the confidence to interact with tenants with patience and compassion.


To meet our commitment to providing safe, high quality services to our tenants, we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Adult Barred list, once an offer of employment is made.
