Job description
Our Import/Export Customer Service Operator within Stolt Tank Containers Ltd is an Operational/Customer care role.

You will be responsible for responding to customer logistics requirements, organizing the loading and discharging of customers products and managing all aspects of logistics modes from trucking, to shipping, rail bookings in addition you will also be required to complete invoicing, documentation and problem-solving while always delivering outstanding customer satisfaction and maintaining a high level of KPI results.

This role would ideally be suited to someone that has already gained some experience working within an office based environment, full training will be provided on site, it's an opportunity to gain a career working for a large corporate company in the shipping/logistics sector.


Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain nominated customer base on a day-to-day basis, solving logístical issues as they arise and providing first class service and financial performance to these accounts

Follow operational processes to ensure that Vendor instructions are accurate and communicated in time.

Update the system accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure that all Transport Documentation (Bill of Lading / Customs Documentation) are dealt with accurately and according to regulations and Operational process.

Manage day-to-day operational emergencies and inform Operations Supervisor/Manager of any serious incidents/accidents.

Identify and address supplier problems and generate alternative solutions, when necessary, in the area of your control

Ensure all operational non-conformances for vendors/suppliers are recorded within the system in timely and professional manner. Provide support when required to the SHE&Q team to investigate any customer complaints, liaising with the SHE&Q department and the Operations Manager/Supervisor when needed and to ensure that root cause analysis is carried out, and is fed back to the customer with results of investigation and the relevant corrective actions

Assist accounting department and Operational Manager/Supervisor with accounts receivable problems on customers within his/her area of responsibility;
Ensure all extra costs are communicated efficiently and charged on to customers in a timely manner as per the Operational processes and all jobs are charged out correctly and efficiently, maintaining profit margins on each job

Liaising closely with customer base to ensure effective and regular communication is delivered and service levels are maintained.

Ensure that all Operational Key Performance Indicators are achieved on time to Reduce Weekly/Monthly KPI's and provide efficient delivery/loading performance for each customer

Ensure and help maintain/promote the positive culture which exists within the Operational team at Romford.

The Operations coordinator should have good standard of Education.


A minimum of 1 year industry experience and Knowledge of Transport operations, Customs regulations and Sea container shipping & Documentation.


Specific Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills, Stolt tank containers Ltd is a Paperless office and use a paperless system to control the movement of tanks.
  • Must be ethical, detail oriented, organized and able to prioritize and set goals both for themselves and within a team environment.

£30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
