LGV Mechanic to join the team.

Location:
The role is based at our Halifax depot, but flexibility and mobility is required to carry out the task

Transport - Undertaking General transport, Freight Forwarding and Warehousing

Heavy Lift - Heavy transport, Crane Hire, Lifting & Project management

Marine - Vessel Chartering operations, Stevedoring, Port and Ships Agency services

Consulting - Undertaking Route surveying, site access studies & reporting

The Company specialise in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Heavy Engineering, Renewables and Civil & Infrastructure markets, transporting and moving difficult loads within the UK & Worldwide


We operate from our head office site in Halifax along with our port based depots in Goole and in Grangemouth, Scotland.


LGV Mechanic - The Role:


  • Inspect vehicles, trailers and plant to MOT standard
  • Diagnose faults and rectify all types of faults
  • Service and repair vehicles or components using appropriate equipment and tools
  • Maintain current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
  • Fabrication of components
  • Any other reasonable duties as workload requires

LGV Mechanic - You:


  • City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician
  • The ability to organise work on own initiative and work under pressure
  • Experience working with trailers, hydraulic systems and electrical systems
  • Experience of Diagnostic computers would be an advantage
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Having a C+E (class 1) Licence would be preferred but not essential
  • Selfmotivated and an effective team player
  • Positive approach to management of change
  • Effective communicator at all levels
  • To contribute to the department's strategic vision of the company's requirements

Conditions

  • Anticipated normal working hours are 06.00 to 18.00 Hours shifts, with one hour breaks, on a 4 on 4 off, rolling shift patter
  • Overtime working is required by the demands of the business
  • 20 days Holiday per year including Bank Holiday
