We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Controller to join our Credit Control Team to ensure sales are turned into cash as quickly as possible and minimise the business' risk to bad debt.


Key Responsibilities

Debt Management

  • Proactive debt management throughout the month for all customers in NI and Donegal area, to ensure their exposure is in line with credit limits/terms.
  • Providing risk assessments and credit checks for all new customers
  • Liaising with solicitors and sale staff to recover bad debts
  • Manage order release in line with company deadlines and with customer credit terms

Customer Management

  • Capturing and quickly actioning customer complaints and issues
  • Management of customer database
  • Advising customers/BDM's on best payment options for large oneoff orders

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a credit control role in a similar size organisation.
  • Understanding of pursuing debt collection through the legal systems (solicitors/courts)
  • Understanding of dealing with liquidations/bankruptcy/receiverships etc.

  • The ability to work at a pace that matches the requirements of this fastmoving business and recognise the importance of meeting deadlines
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Arranges work schedules and prioritises work to meet deadlines
  • Computer literate, logical and methodical approach to work
  • A high standard of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • The ability to work in team as well as individually
  • A willingness to work extra hours or assist in other areas outside role

  • Calm, level headed approach to dealing with difficult situations with customers
  • Able to convey confidence, authority, and persistence with all levels of staff working for the customer

  • Presents information in a clear and concise manner
  • Can change communication style for different types of customer and different types of situation.
  • Ability to negotiate in a variety of situations
