    The School of Ocean and Earth Science at the University of Southampton's National Oceanography Centre is seeking a Teaching Fellow to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and MSc level, focusing on marine biology subjects such as organism physiology and coastal marine ecology.

    This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of biologists, ecologists, oceanographers, and geoscientists within the 60-strong Marine Biology and Ecology research group (MBERG). As part of this esteemed group, you will be involved in delivering high-quality curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, applying state-of-the-art techniques to investigate the consequences of environmental change and human activities on marine organisms and ecosystems.

    Your primary responsibility will be to support the delivery, assessment, and student support across the Marine Biology group of taught programmes. To be successful, you should have teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a strong emphasis on field teaching and data analysis for students of varying skill levels. A PhD or equivalent professional qualification is essential for this role.

    This is a full-time position with an estimated salary range of £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, based on the UK National Living Wage and location factors. The duration of this fixed-term post is 11 months, starting on February 1st, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
