Sheffield United Football Club is looking for a highly motivated, person-oriented HR Advisor to join our Human Resources team.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Analyse Club HR data and produce reports based on agreed specifics.
  • Provide HR advice to management on employee relations and management issues.
  • Support in the review, creation and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Coaching Managers how to get the best out of their staff using the performance and development review process and or relevant policies detailed within the staff handbook.
  • Support the recruitment advisor to provide proactive recruiting assistance and guidance to stakeholders across the Club.
  • Coordinating the onboarding process for new starters
  • Ensure that all HR files and systems are updated and maintained.
  • Advising staff and stakeholders on staff development opportunities and procedures
  • Lead on the continuous review and improvement of HR systems.
  • Provide stakeholder support with employee relations matters, ensuring that our policies and procedures are followed. Coach and advise on best practice and help them prepare to lead and chair processes e.g. disciplinary and grievance.
  • Be a trusted colleague and confident to staff who may be experiencing difficulties, personal or work related. Where appropriate and where able, give advice on procedural options or wellbeing support the club can offer.
  • Proactively Line manages the HR Administrator providing clear direction as to their daytoday roles and responsibilities. Actively seek opportunities to enhance their knowledge and experience, formally documenting through the club PDR process.
  • Ensure all HR administration procedures are followed in line with agreed times scales and accuracy.
  • Support the Head of HR to identify continuous improvement opportunities within HR.
  • Lead in the communication with supporters via the Club complaints procedure ensuring fair and consistent responses.
  • Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.

Club Wide Responsibilities:


  • To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.

Essential Criteria you need:


  • Experience in employment law relating to daytoday HR matters.
  • Knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience in interpreting, advising and implementing such agreements and procedures.
  • Ability to use a HR information system including, accessing, inputting, and compiling data.
  • The verbal communication skills to communicate with a diverse client group.
  • The written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports.
  • The ability to research, analyse and reason logically within tight and conflicting timeframes.
  • Experience in leading and working effectively in teams.
  • Experience in supervising staff and assuming responsibility for workload allocation.
  • Role model the Club values.
  • Ability to write and present information.

Desirable Criteria for the role:


  • CIPD level 3/5 or other relevant HR qualification
  • Knowledge of the best practice on recruitment and selection
  • Experience in leading projects and implementing new initiatives.
