Summary/Objective

The objective of the role of glass processor/oprative is processing high value products to a high quality standard in line with the production schedule. We are keen to recruit team members who have the potential to succeed in the role even if they may not have experience of a similar role.

Duties And Responsibilities

Applicants should have experience of working within Glass Processing, however this is not essential as training will be given. This position requires the production of glass products produced to a high standard, the ability to learn and understand and work to the required quality standard.

You will be trained to read/understand the Engineering drawings highlighting the product requirements. Must be able to lift and manipulate the glass pieces during the assembly process, mechanised lifting is available for heavier pieces. Attention to detail and a good attitude to quality and having a good attitude towards Health and Safety is essential for this position.

Candidates must be willing to learn and be capable of working both as part of a team and on their own, aiming to help increase the output of the department, a good attention to general good housekeeping is extremely important when producing high quality product, with a great attitude to succeed.

The successful candidate will undergo training to collaborate with the team and will eventually work independently after receiving full training in CAD data. Once fully trained, the successful candidate will also receive training in various areas of the glass plant, including glass cutting, glass grinding, glass printing, and glass toughening.

Additional

Successful candidates could also be trained to work within the following departments.

  • Training will be given on the required lifting equipment and other safety aspects required within the plant and various processes.
  • We also operate a glass shot blasting department; this could also be part of an additional training program.

     

Competencies

Applicants must have a good attitude and understand the importance of H&S and keeping the spray area clean and tidy. Must be meticulous on cleaning supplied paint equipment and product.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to communicate with team members and take direction from their supervisor. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching during the working day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items between 10-15kg

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work

This is a full-time role, applicants must be flexible in their working patterns as 2 shift rotation, nightshift and weekend working will be required.

Early Shift

  • Monday to Thursday 06.00 - 14.00
  • Friday 06.00 - 13.00

     

Late Shift

  • Monday to Thursday 14.00 - 22.00
  • Friday 13.00 - 20.00

     

Overtime may be required for this role.

Must be able to prove eligibility to work in UK.
