An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Director of Financial Management to join Nottingham University Hospital's finance department in a key leadership role.


This role will require a presence for part of each week on site at Trust HQ, City Campus as well as the opportunity for partial home working with occasional travel to the Trust's QMC and Ropewalk Campus.

Main duties of the job


We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead a large financial management team to make a major contribution to Nottingham University Hospitals and continue the development of innovative and agile delivery of financial reporting, budgetary management and business support to our clinical and corporate team.

Having adapted successfully to remote working the department is currently transitioning to a more formal hybrid working approach. A key priority of the department is obtaining One NHS Finance accreditation at level 3.


You may be an existing senior manager who is keen to further develop your career and national reputation for achieving success in one of the UK's largest and most complex organisations.

Skilled at delivering change through people, you are a charismatic and insightful leader with outstanding communication skills.


Applicants must be able to demonstrate how they have delivered significant successes that have led to financial improvement and their capability to lead a large team and improve processes.

You will be an experienced leader working with in the NHS or within an equally complex environment. Leadership, team-working and influencing skills are essential.

You will be a team player and possess drive and innovation with a real commitment to taking your teams forward and contributing to the Trust's success.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Educated to Masters level (or equivalent) ie. CCAB accounting qualification with recent significant post qualification experience.
  • Must have significant evidenced continual professional development.
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Expert understanding of the NHS finance regime
  • Experience of delivering effective partnerships in complex organisations
  • Experience of delivering complex change programmes
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Able to develop, use and interpret highly complex financial models, including sensitivity analysis.
  • Experience of delivering a highly complex work programme against multiple challenging deadlines.
  • Extensive experience of business partnering with senior managers and directors of a large, complex organisation.

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
