Following a redesign of our junior doctor rota we are looking to appoint a Physician Associate to rotate every 6 months through Neurology, Neurology Day Care Unit, and Stroke.

The Physician Associate role is being developed to work alongside the medical and nursing teams, managing patients with a full-range of neurological conditions.

The post-holder will build on their skills in clerking, assessing and examining patients gained through their physician associate training, present cases to more senior members of the team, initiate and interpret investigations, and recommend appropriate management/treatment.

The post holder will be expected to liaise with other professionals and specialties as required and complete necessary documentation relating to their patients.

The Queen Square Division is a leading Centre for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, stroke and head injuries.

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) provides comprehensive neurology and neurosurgery services for our other hospitals, including an acute brain injury unit, the national Prion clinic and a neurorehabilitation unit.

With its neighbour, the Institute of Neurology, it is a major international Centre for research and training.

You will be supported by a team of consultant neurologists, included a dedicated consultant supervisor, and you will be fully integrated within your clinical team.

There will opportunities for education and service development and your skills will be vital in helping us achieve our mission of continuing to make a national and international contribution to neurological research and treatment.

This role is integral to the new model of care being developed at NHNN and will play a vital part in the expansion of that model.

Training will be provided for neurology and stroke specific skills, with ongoing consultant and Lead Physician Associate supervision.
