Role - Technical Officer - Codification Team

Salary - Up to £35,000 Depending on experience

Location - Remote - Occasional visits to site

Proactive are currently in search of multiple Technical Officers to join our client in the Codification team, this is an exciting opportunity working for a market leader in the defence industry.

This position will be remote based with the occasional visits to the client sites.

Key Responsibilities

Screening of identifying references against UK CSIS and NSPA NATO Master Cross List systems to confirm any preexisting NSNs.
Confirmation of Item of Supply (IoS) identity, identifying Manufacturer and Equipment Supplier corresponding references.
Identifying corresponding NATO Commercial & Government Entity Codes (NCAGE) to confirm manufacturers and suppliers.
Processing of eTasking requests though UK CSIS in accordance with UK eTasking Guide, for allocation of new NSNs, or update of existing NSNs, and introduction to appropriate UK Base Inventory System.

- locating or obtaining source data, in compliance with Defcon 117, though manufacturer or supplier websites, catalogues, datasheets, google searches etc, to support new codification requests.

Progression of products through to NSN allocation, handling any queries raised by the UK National Codification Bureau or authorised codification contractor.

Skills needed withing the Job Description:

Ability to extract or interpret Technical data from engineering drawings, catalogues, etc.
Knowledge and understanding of the NATO Supply and Classification System.
Efficient use of Computer/Software package, CSIS, NMCRL systems.
The ability to interpret engineering drawings to suggest Approved Item Name codes (AIN) and NATO Supply Class (NSC).
