I am currently working with a University in London looking for a IT Project Manager in their Strategic programme of change.

The role holder will be part of a small team of project managers who are responsible for the definition and delivery of IT projects within agreed parameters of scope, time, cost and quality.


The purpose of the role is to:

  • Manage the definition and delivery of projects of strategic importance to the university in order to fulfil the university's investment plan
  • As part of project delivery, to ensure effective project governance and decisionmaking, and that the relevant university policies and processes are followed
  • Monitor, control and report project delivery versus plan, identifying and managing project risks and opportunities in order to keep the project on track, controlling changes to baseline plans where needed
  • Ensure project stakeholders and resources are identified and appropriately involved, with responsibilities and resource requirements clearly defined and agreed, and with stakeholder communications and expectations managed throughout the project lifecycle
  • Have great interpersonal skills
  • Substantial experience as an IT professional and project manager, and a demonstrable track record of successful delivery including at least one large and complex project to introduce or update technology
  • Experience with SITS is desired but not essential
  • A thorough understanding of effective project governance, planning, reporting versus baseline, and risk management
  • Higher Education experience is ESSENTIAL.
