About The Role:


This role is about supporting the optimal resourcing of our business to enable us to deliver effectively across all our clients.


Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the senior leadership team to regularly plan ahead to ensure capacity and forecast are as closely matched as possible
  • Supporting our practices to ensure that new work coming into the business is planned from a resourcing perspective
  • Supporting our "Best Teams" approach by identifying the individuals who are most capable, and available, to support the needs of our incumbent and future clients
  • Where forecast looks likely to exceed capacity, partnering with senior team members in the relevant practice area of the business to understand upcoming resourcing requirements and helping to explore potential solutions, focusing on internal solutions first
  • Monitoring workflow and having discussions with team members to implement any changes needed to optimally resource the business, working nimbly while also keeping stakeholders informed
  • Proactively and responsively (as necessary) accommodating changes to workflow to ensure optimal utilization and billability of talent
  • Supporting the senior leadership team to track utilization and discussing any issues with the practice lead, line managers and account leads, where necessary
  • Partnering with HR where the agreed solution is to hire (thereafter the usual process between HR and the hiring manager is followed) and supporting the senior leadership team to ensure any hires are in line with the agreed business plan
  • Maintaining a freelancer database and relationships
  • When needed, seeking appropriate approval for and sourcing suitable freelancers and working with finance, IT and account teams to onboard them
  • Tracking freelancer time and, where needed, supporting with their reallocation across teams to maximize resources
  • Working with teams to monitor the quality of work provided by freelancers and, where necessary, working with teams to provide feedback
  • Onboarding new team members to our capacity and resource planning tools and processes
  • Working with others to deliver any capacity and resource planning training, as needed
  • Supporting the Operations Director with ad hoc tasks related to resource management
  • Will have an interest and, ideally, some experience in resource planning and management
  • Will be a good communicator and able to connect with people
  • Will be proactive with a strong sense of urgency
  • Will potentially seek to further their career in resource management
