The role:

The L&D Coordinator will be a key role in the Tanks business.

Playing an integral part in fulfilling our promise to our employees, offering progression and development through an effective learning process.


The L & D Coordinator will support our employees to be more productive, efficient, and confident in whatever role they play at Balmoral Tanks.

Part of the HR team, the role also provides administrative and coordination support across the business.

The L&D Coordinator role embraces all aspects of our business, to support our employee's contribution to our strategy of differentiation through service

We are looking for someone who is passionate about people development and helping them achieve their full potential.


The top 5 priories

  • Work with all functional heads to ensure an adequate competency matrix is in place, with subsequent verification processes, maintained monthly.
  • Administer, maintain, and display competencies across the business.
  • Identify competence/ compliance gaps and agree plans to address with the functional head.
  • In line with department heads, map out annual development plans and calendars for central function mandatory compliance training and cross organisation training needs.
  • Conduct learning needs assessment in collaboration with the functional heads to clearly understand define the capability gaps.

The challenges:

The role is a natural extension to the progress made by our existing HR team. Potential areas for the L&D Coordinator to become effective in the role include;

  • Driving the importance of competencies across the business.
  • Dealing with multiple locations around the UK.
  • Engagement of all people managers.
  • Gathering all current documentation.
You will have full support from the HR team, the board & senior managers within the business. Our core values are real, not aspirational.


Your required experience:


  • Experience with elearning platforms.
  • Experience in a similar role working across multisite.
  • Experience in developing competency matrices.
  • CIPD Level 3/5 Learning and Development (desirable
- or something you are working towards)
