About this role
You'll be as a trusted industry partner to our defence customer and cross
- functionally supporting internal business units (Sales, Business, Technology, Security and Operations), key stakeholders and externally facing third party technology providers as part of and reporting into the practice manager.

You'll deliver the MoD installation standards policy and governance.

Ensuring compliance with the Cabinet Office Information Assurance Governance Framework and HMG Security Policy Framework across the UK mainland BT Defence sites.


Underpinned by robust ICT framework architecture, security principles, methodologies, industry best practices, and customer compliance polices, as a SCIDA (Site Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority) professional you provide expertise & ownership throughout the project delivery stages of a solutions design engagement life cycle.


As part of the Solution Design Authority team, you'll partner closely with other architects, designers, technology experts, business managers and business analysts.

Where you will bring your expertise and diverse experience to each challenge ensuring successful solution delivery across a vast variation in highly sensitive and unique opportunities and projects.


You'll have the following responsibilities

  • Undertake Site Coordinating Installation Design Authority (SCIDA) activities across one or more sites to the required technical and quality standards.
  • Provide SCIDA/TEMPEST expertise and advice throughout the solution design life cycle (planning, design, installation, commissioning, In-Life and change control).
  • Carry out installation site surveys and inspections at appropriate stages and certifying compliance or nonconformance in accordance with MoD Installation Standards Policy.
  • Identify, document, and escalate risk or nonconformance assessed as unacceptable to the project owner or Head of Establishment and provide resolution advice.
  • Produce SCIDA Engineering Change Request Documentation.
  • Working with the BT Defence Solution Design Authority and wider teams to develop assurance techniques and methodologies to suit emerging technologies.

You'll have the following skills & experience

  • Hold or being willing to undergo UKSV Security Check clearance
  • Proven experience of Information Communication Technology installations
  • Working knowledge and experience of Installation engineering, standards, and conformance (such as BS EN 6701, BS EN 50173, BS EN 50174, ISO 9001, IET Electrical Regs)
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience of Information Communication Technology Equipment rooms and Datacentres.
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience of Information Communication Technology physical hardware in any
    one of the following:
  • Enterprise networks (IP L1-L7)
  • Enterprise network security and boundary protection
  • Service provider networks (DWDN, SDH, OTN)
  • Computing infrastructures (on premise, edge, and cloud)
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience of TEMPEST Electromagnetic Security.
  • Preferably have the following professional training and/or accreditations
  • MoD SCIDA certified
  • TEMPEST and Electromagnetic Security Fundamentals and any
    two of these
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Server+
  • CompTIA Cloud+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Experienced in identifying risks, impact, mitigation, and problemsolving.
  • Experienced in communicating to key stakeholders with varying technical knowledge.
  • Preferably experienced in working in major public industry sectors; Defence (MoD) and/or HM Government departments or agencies.
  • Preferably working knowledge and experience in HMG MoD compliance and security policies.
  • Selfstarter who can work independently with mínimal support and guidance
