SEMH/ Behaviour Support Assistant

At Protocol Education we are currently looking for a resilient and enthusiastic SEMH/ Behaviour Support Assistant to work full time at a well established SEMH school in LS16.

We have developed a fantastic reputation in the local area, and we're looking for more high-quality SEMH/ Behaviour Support Assistants to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.

This school is a specialist academy that provides the best possible care for children and young people with SEMH needs. You will be working with students between the ages of 5 years old to 16 years of age.

About the role:


Our SEMH/ Behaviour Support Assistants' duties can include:

  • Guide and monitor pupil progress to identify areas that require improvement.
  • Support the emotional, physical, and social development of pupils.
  • Prepare classrooms prior to lessons; they also clean up afterwards.
  • Help teachers in preparing materials that meet the development requirement of children.
  • Organise and supervise pupils during project and sporting activities.

The ideal applicant will have:


  • Ability to communicate clearly with Teachers and younger individuals.
  • Active listening skills
  • Be able to create and maintain strong relationships with students
  • Ability to create an encouraging learning environment for pupils.
  • Understanding and sensitivity towards children
  • Excellent knowledge of lessons that pupils are required to learn in class
