Schedule:
This is a Weekend Working position i.e.

Saturday and Sunday as well as one other day in the week either Monday or Friday with flexibility on the working hours.

Holiday cover will also be required


Job Brief:

Weekend Working i.e. Saturday and Sunday PLUS one other week day either a Monday or Friday. _An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join an established business.

With a fleet of 20+ vehicles the role presents the opportunity to work alongside the Transport Manager to successfully operate the day-to-day transport operations.

You will be in charge of the weekend working drivers and the planning and execution of their schedules._


Salary:
£30,000 - £35,000 pro-rata and based on experience (3 days per week)


Key responsibilities include:


Drivers

  • Ensure drivers weekly timesheets are completed correctly, complying with rules and regulations.
  • Monitor drivers' hours, manage driver weekly and fortnightly driving hours.
  • 6 monthly check and record driver license, CPC and Tacho cards.
  • Generation of monthly Tacho infringement reports to all drivers, circulate and file accordingly.
  • Management of driver personal files for operational reporting.
  • Carry out investigation meetings with drivers and provide a recommended outcome to TM on matters such as Tachograph Infringements, Vehicle Accidents and Traffic Violations nonconformance and complaints.

Operational and Legal:


  • Ensure that the TM is aware of any convictions / breaches against any relevant parties for reporting to the Traffic Commissioner.
  • Ensure O' Licenses are displayed as appropriate in vehicles
  • Remain knowledgeable of all relevant transport legislation applicable to the business and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure the Company's vehicle servicing requirements are adhered to, both company policy and legislation, including tachographs and vehicle defects and brake test reports for trailers.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle defects, safety inspections, routine maintenance and repairs, this must include wheel retorques post wheel changes.
  • Complete monthly tractor and trailer gate check inspections for all vehicles and trailers to ensure equipment is being looked after and kept clear both outside and in.

Financial

  • Weekly recording of all costs associated with maintenance and repairs;
  • Management of performance and KPI's on the Quicks reporting tool, challenge any identified exceptions;
  • Timely approving and passing of supplier invoices ensuring all costs are captured within the month incurred;
  • Management of petty cash making sure ALL receipts are VAT compliant.

Customer

  • Operationally you must liaise will all customers to understand their transport requirements;
  • Timely reporting of any late running collections or deliveries;
  • Report to them any failed collection and deliveries on a same day basis;
  • Management of all customer related delivery documents and weekly processing of all delivery tickets once verified on the plan.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Previous Transport Management experience is essential
  • Knowledge of transport rules and regulations is essential
  • Confident individual who would take ownership of the team and the operation
  • Comfortable dealing with disciplinary, grievance, accident and incident investigation
  • Managing within multisite and multi customer operations

Job Types:

Part-time hours: 24 per week

£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
