The research fellow will contribute to the research programme of a new and exciting NIHR-funded Global Health Research Group on Physical Trauma from Injury & POsT Conflict (iPrOTeCT).

The work involves understanding the role that violence and conflict has on societies and health systems. The work aims to generate impactful knowledge to inform health system change through quantitative policy evaluation. Applicants with strong track records of excellence in research are encouraged to apply.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • You will work in the broad field of health systems, violence, conflict and health, and undertake an internationally excellent programme of research.
  • You will collaborate and work across international research teams and publish research papers in peerreviewed journals
  • You will contribute to teaching at the Undergraduate and Masters level.
  • You will foster national and international scientific collaborations with other worldleading centres.
  • You will demonstrate growing leadership and management skills.
  • You will attend relevant international workshops and conferences.
  • You will promote the reputation of the department, school of Public Health, and Imperial College through scientific meetings, scholarship, and other outwardlyfacing activities.

Essential requirements:

- _A PhD (or equivalent) in public health, health economics, or a closely related field_
- _ Research interests in global health, conflict, violence, health systems._
- _ Proven abilities to carry out research to a high level._
- _ Knowledge of research methods and statistical procedures including impact evaluations, quantitative research methods, quasi-experimental approaches._
- _ A record of high-quality publications in international peer-reviewed journals_
- _ Experience of collaborative international research
- _Experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels_
- _ Evidence of supervision and mentorship of students;_


Further information:


  • The College is currently trialling a Work Location Framework until early 2023. Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview._
