ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

London Thames Maths Hub is one of the 40 national Maths Hubs in England, funded by the Department for Education and coordinated by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM).

The Maths Hub is made up of a partnership of schools, colleges and other organisations, working together to develop and spread excellent practice in mathematics education, for the benefit of all students, teachers and schools in Lambeth, Croydon and Bromley area.


We are passionate about providing support for teachers and schools that can help to improve the mathematics experience and outcomes for learners, from early years to post 16.

London Thames Maths Hub benefits from a supportive and driven Maths Hub Leadership and Management Team, the commitment of the Local Leaders of Maths Education and partner schools, colleges and organisations, and the wider support from the NCETM and the national Maths Hub Programme.


Developing, implementing and monitoring a communication and marketing strategy to ensure information and news about maths hub including its values and ethos are effectively promoted using a range of digital and print platforms to teachers and leaders in the London Thames Hub area.

Oversee administration within the Hub to ensure that records and data are up to date.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY General Accountabilities**:

  • To line manage the manage the Maths Hub Administrator
  • To oversee content and communications on the Hub website, and social media platforms
  • To oversee and produce inhouse 'professional quality' marketing materials and promotional content
  • To compile the digital newsletter
  • To organise and oversee the production of promotional photographic materials and videos
  • To produce editorial and promotional content including photographs
  • To produce and send press invitations for major events
  • To meet the reporting requirements of the Hub by updating MHPoD
  • To use Power Bi Maps to analyse the reach of the Hub
  • To provide general administrative support in the Hub office as required
  • Communicate with the Hub senior leadership team about existing and new marketing activities including providing termly analytics reports
  • To assist the Maths Hub Lead in managing the Hub finances and liaise with the Finance Office
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring a communication strategy for the Maths Hub to enable high quality engagement with schools and colleges regarding Maths Hub activity

Responsibilities for the Maths Hub Include:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring a communication strategy for the Maths Hub to enable high quality engagement with schools and colleges regarding Maths Hub activity
  • Ensuring that the internal communication channels of Maths Hub Network are used efficiently (Maths Hub Bulletin, Programme Calendar, and online communities)
  • Investigating external communication tools (Twitter, websites, newsletters) to promote the Maths Hub
  • Creating bespoke communication tools to promote the Hub
  • Organising engagement events
  • Managing the development and maintenance of the Maths Hub website, ensuring it is an uptodate resource to include all relevant WG dates
  • Managing the Hub process of recruitment for the Hub programmes
  • Briefing the MHLM team and where necessary LLME on any relevant updates and /or central guidance
  • Providing support to LL
