About the roleof Registered Manager:

We are recruiting an experienced Manager for our Residential young people's home in Queensbury Brent London.
The home is Ofsted rated Good. This post is required due to us opening an new home close to where the current manager lives.

Our home caters for upto 4 young people of any gender with a diagnosed with social and emotional behavioural difficulties between the ages of 8 and 17 years.


As Manager you will be a key factor in helping us to deliver high quality care to our young people.

We need an experienced and enthusiastic Manager to join our team of professional staff and share in building brighter futures for young people
.



Main Duties & Responsibilitiesof Registered Manager

  • To monitor and maintain good practice in accordance with the young people's homes Regulations 2015 and the young people Act 1989 in a professional manner, and other relevant legislation.
  • To act as a positive role model, using effective communication and appropriate language; to do with colleagues rather than instruct others to do on behalf of you whilst also delegating tasks appropriate to ability.
  • To provide professional supervision for identified staff, to aid their development, learning and understanding of their role, provide constructive criticism and contribute to appraisals
  • To assist with the planning and organisation of staffing rotas and holiday rotas to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained
  • To promote the practice of working in partnership with young people, their families, other staff within other agencies, to meet the needs of young people.
  • To ensure that sufficient back up resources are available in emergency/out of hour's situations including participation in an out of hours 'On-Call' rota.
  • To manage the home.
  • To ensure the home is managed in a way that supports the views, wishes and feelings of the young people accommodated in the home.
  • To contribute effectively to each child's placement plan review and Looked after Child Review.
  • To monitor and schedule staff development and training.

Other Responsibilities or Dutiesof Registered Manager

  • To seek advice and support, where and whenever necessary, from peers or managers. To provide support and advice to colleagues.
  • To make decisions appropriate to the needs of the young people through consultation with colleagues on duty.
  • To take a lead role in challenging bad practice or actions that go against agreed action plans. This challenge should be direct, out of the hearing of young people.
  • To deal with any issues that arise from colleagues and senior staff including personal/primary care and behaviour management. Not to leave to someone else that which you are not prepared to do yourself.
  • To develop knowledge of benefits and ensure each young person has access to and receives those they are entitled too.
  • To attend training as arranged.
  • To ensure that supervision takes place within the given timescales and to attend with appropriate agenda items. To raise issues with managers regarding the content of any particular supervision that requires further resolution, or where conflict or specificchallenges arise.
