HR is at the very heartbeat of Bath Spa University and we have a really exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll and Pensions Administrator to play a key role and join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

As one of the payroll team, you will provide high quality administration for payroll and pension processes.

Working in liaison with the Payroll and Pensions Manager, Payroll and Pensions Administrator, and the HR admin team to ensure smooth processes.

You will liaise with managers and staff regarding payroll and pension queries, providing expert advice and guidance.

The role will have a key focus to look for opportunities to make process and service improvements, and support on wider payroll projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

We are looking for an experienced Payroll specialist, ideally from a similar complex environment.

You will have recent, significant experience of operating a computerised payroll system (ITrent ideally), and knowledge of Local Government and Teachers Pension schemes would be advantageous.

You will be highly numerate, with a key eye for detail, have a good working knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, OMP, SPP.

Up to date knowledge of Defined Benefit and/or Defined Contribution Pension Schemes.

You will be self motivated, adaptable and respond positively to change, and have a friendly, personable approach when dealing with people at all levels.

You will have a desire to problem solve, investigating and correcting queries as they arise.
