_Part-time Head of Finance _
Our partner is a healthcare INGO with programmes in East Africa.

They are looking to recruit a part-time Head of Finance; this is a newly created position, with the role to coordinate the smooth running of the day to day accounting, and lead on the financialmanagement, as the organisation grows.


_R_esponsibilities_

  • Ensure effective management of the financial operations, forecasting, and annual planning and budgeting process.
  • Provide financial oversight of the day to day accounting, banking and payroll in the UK and overseas offices.
  • Ensure that the organisation meets its regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Lead on business planning and strategy, developing forecasts and projections, and offering financial advice to the senior leadership and board.
  • Liaise with the UK and overseas offices and lead in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts, and in the preparation of the annual consolidated statutory accounts and reports and annual audit.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and quarterly board reports.
  • Review and strengthen internal processes, controls and systems in the UK and overseas offices.
  • Support in the preparation of budgets for proposals, and in effective grants compliance, management and reporting.

_Requirements_

  • Qualified accountant with at least 5 years of experience working in an international charity, and in contributing to strategic and financial planning processes.
  • Strong allround technical skills, with experience of financial & management accounting, reporting and grants compliance, management and reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading the yearend accounts and audit preparation.
  • Strong business partnering skills, able to work effectively with senior leadership & board members, and finance and nonfinance staff in the UK and overseas.
  • Excellent IT skills; intermediate/advanced MSExcel skills
  • Passionate about the organisation's work and values.


This is a part-time role, expected to require a commitment of 2 days/week for the first 6 months, reducing to 1 day/month after that.
