The North London Mental Health Partnership - a Partnership of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) - was first established in 2021 to better support service users, carers and partners to improve the mental health of everyone in North London.

We are better able to address challenges through our two Trusts working more closely together, and ultimately create a united and powerful voice championing mental health and mental health services within North London.

Key Task and Responsibilities

To be responsible for co-ordination and facilitation of educational and development programmes for undergraduate medical students, physician associate students, training and non-training grade doctors including the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the educational programmes


To be responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of all academic and competency programmes for medical students, Physician Associate (PA) students, training and non-training grade doctors.

To be responsible for co-ordinating the undergraduate and postgraduate induction programme including room bookings and liaison with speakers

To co-ordinate the local teaching programme in liaison with the Undergraduate Lead, Site Tutors and Director/ Deputy Director of Medical

To be responsible for the production of accurate and up to date induction packs for undergraduate and training grade doctors to include relevant Trust policies and clinical guidelines

To be responsible for setting up quarterly Medical Education Board (MEB) meetings ensuring that venues are booked, and refreshments are available where appropriate

To coordinate quarterly Medical Education Board (MEB) meetings including compiling and sending out agendas, taking and distributing minutes of meetings

To support the Medical Education Manager in coordinating educational events including:
Booking venues

Co-ordinating and booking speakers for events

Taking and recording bookings for courses/events

Maintaining an attendance list

Sending out reminders and keeping a waiting list, where appropriate

Arranging travel and payment of fees

Collation and analysis of programme feedback

Issuing certificates of attendance and appreciation letter

To administer study leave requests by doctors; monitoring study leave budget and study leave process via tracker spreadsheet ensuring:
All relevant forms are completed

Mandatory training is up to date

Correct authorisation and funding is obtained

Running a monthly report of training grade doctors' study leave expenses for reimbursement by Health Education England.

Running a monthly report of non-training grade doctors' study leave expenses for the Finance Tea

Liaise with the Medical Education Manager and Learning and Development Team to ensure mandatory training is carried out in line with Trust policy and the requirements of the Local Education and Training Board, Gold guide and NHS Litigation Authority (NHSLA) are met

Participate in the local induction of new team members; ensuring new staff are aware of administrative processes and procedures.

Support the delivery of sessions on teaching programmes when required.

External Assessments & Reporting

Co-ordinate educational quality visits collating requisite evidence for educational standards and objectives as directed by Medical Education Manager

Collate information/evidence in support of the Trust annual educational report as directed by Medical Education Manager.

Finance

To be responsible for updating, monitoring and reporting on study budget.


Commissioning and procurement for the Medical Education team, including provider sourcing, raising Purchasing Order numbers, day to day stock monitoring/maintenance and ordering of goods/services as directed by the Medical Education Manager.


Maintaining a log of external speakers and role play actors usage for induction and other training sessions and reconciling this to the budget.

Communication

Co-ordinating induction and training sessions including liaison and arrangements for speakers and role play actors.


Efficient and effective communication with learning suppliers/internal facilitators to ensure shared understanding of responsibilities and effective delivery of learning programmes.

Ensure effective communication with external funding bodies/partners to ensure contractual obligations are met.
