Team Educate are looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with students in a Special School/Alternative Provision setting in the South Birmingham/Solihull area.

We are keen to hear from professionals with either a background in education and teaching, experience with challenging behaviour, or those who have experience of mentoring young people.

We would equally love to hear from you if you are a recent graduate in a related field (Psychology, Education Studies, Sociology) and are looking for a challenging and extremely rewarding new role as a Behaviour Mentor.

The Behaviour Support Assistant role will involve working closely with young learners to provide behavioural support, mentoring and coaching.

You may be required to work with specific pupils and support them in their lessons to promote academic development, or you may be working 1-to-1 with pupils who follow alternative provision for behaviour coaching.

The ability to communicate 'on the same level' as the young learners you'll work with and being able to build rapport with young people quickly and easily will be vital in this position.


The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will:

  • Provide guidance and support to primary-aged pupils
  • Help pupils set and achieve personal and academic goals
  • Share knowledge and expertise in a specific field or area of interest
  • Assist pupils in developing new skills and overcoming challenges
  • Act as a role model and provide positive reinforcement to pupils
  • Foster a supportive and trusting relationship with a range of pupils

Behaviour Support Assistants will need:


  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Active listening skills to understand individual pupils' needs and concerns
  • Empathy and the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils
  • Patience and the ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Registration with the DBS Update Service or willingness to process one with Team Educate

What we stand for:_

  • Do you have a friend who may be interested in joining us? We offer £75 for every Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant referral and £150 for every Supply Teacher referral (terms and conditions apply)._

Pay:
£86.00-£95.00 per day


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
