Continuous Improvement Lead, IAG Cargo

THE ROLE
As part of the Continuous Improvement team, you will report to the Head of Continuous
Improvement and work in a designated area of the operation you will support, co-ordinate and
facilitate the implementation of new and improved processes, workflows and activities.
Working alongside planning and operational teams, you will maximise efficiencies of the
mechanical handling system within given constraints whilst optimising staff productivity. You
will drive continuous improvement and inspire others to ruthlessly identify and eliminate waste
across the operation.


DUTIES

  • Work with relevant stakeholders and suppliers to obtain and analyse data associated
with operational processes, mechanical handling and workload planning systems,
working practices and processes

  • Work alongside teams to identify and reduce process waste and contribute to and
facilitate problem solving activities

  • Coordinate and prioritise improvement activities across various functions, including
technology, engineering and compliance, working with the Head of area to prioritise
improvement metrics

  • Develop standard processes, work instructions and process maps for efficient ways of
working and share best practices across the team

  • Support process confirmation activities and implementation of preventative and
corrective actions for adverse findings

  • Help drive the implementation of Leaders Standard Work
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking
  • Monitor status of all projects, mitigate risks, escalate issues when necessary and
manage stakeholder expectations

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Skills

  • Strong ability in interpreting & communicating analytics to senior leadership
  • Excellent communication skills and detail orientation
  • Process mapping and producing work instructions (written/visual)
  • Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
  • Facilitation of workshops and problemsolving events

Qualifications

  • Degree in relevant field (or equivalent)
  • Professional experience with Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies
  • Relevant knowledge of change management and continuous improvement
methodologies


Experience
Essential Experience

  • Experience from Industrial Engineering, Business Process Engineering, Quality,
Operations or Logistics


Desirable Experience

  • Experience working in a unionised environment
  • Experience working across a geographically diverse organisation
  • Experience working in aviation, air cargo or a similar logistics organisation would be
advantageous but not essential
