Operational Trainer hours per week, £30,267 pro rata + London weighting

We're looking for an experienced Operational Trainer to join the Talent & Learning team at Brandon. This role will be focused on supporting our service across South London in their Learning & Development requirements

You'll work as part of the team of Operational Trainers, reporting to the Regional Learning & Development Manager.


You'll design & deliver mandatory & essential training within a regional area of the Brandon Trust and will have the responsibility of new starter induction, annual training requirements, the care certificate and ad hoc workplace assessment amongst otherduties.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating & delivering relevant inhouse training programmes and resources for frontline colleagues.
  • Selecting & using the most appropriate training methods and activities, taking a blended learning approach (including eLearning, virtual classroom, face to face delivery)
  • Ensure that the training you deliver meets legal and regulatory compliance guidelines (CQC & OFSTED)
  • Performing needs assessment to identify knowledge gaps and areas in need of improvement
  • Champion and drive forward the digital and functional skills of the workforce
  • Use a range of multimedia and IT systems to collect, monitor and evaluate data in relation to Talent & learning activities. Use the data to report on trends, concerns, and solutions
  • Designing bespoke learning that is aligned to Brandon's strategy & values
  • Responding to the local, operational requirements of the workforce.

A successful Operational Trainer at Brandon will:

  • Have a good understanding & experience of Social Care & all essential training required by the sector
  • Have demonstrable experience of active involvement in design and/or delivering training and learning and developing other
  • Have demonstrable experience of creating digital learning media
  • Hold a teaching or training qualification within a relevant field
  • Hold a relevant qualification to deliver training on Moving & Handling of people, Basic Life Support, infection control, safeguarding, MCA, medication awareness.
  • Have an entrepreneurial approach to promotion of learning programmes
  • Have a positive attitude to seeking new ways of encouraging people to stretch their abilities to the full
  • Have good coaching and people skills and be able to demonstrate creative skills in course design and training facilitation.
