About The Role:

Bell is recruiting 4 temporary Residential Assistants to work this summer.

This is a summer
residential role from 7 July - 18 August to oversee the behaviour of Bell Cambridge students accommodated offsite residences, with specific responsibility for the security and safeguarding of students aged 16 and 17 in the residence.


The Residential Assistants will deal with weekend arrivals and departures, induction to the accommodation, student queries, ensuring under 18s adhere to guidelines and curfew and generally ensuring the safety and security of all Bell Cambridge students and the property they are accommodated in, together with other general duties as required.


The post holder will work closely with the Residential Supervisor and other Residential Assistants alongside colleagues in the Bell Head Office team.


  • The posts are ideal summer jobs for university students. Most of the work takes place at weekends and in the evenings, leaving you free to seek other parttime employment in the daytime Monday
  • Friday to maximise your summer earning potential, or use the day times to study.
    Main Responsibilities
  • Work alongside Residential Supervisor and other Residential Assistants
  • Ensure smooth operation of student arrivals and departures, in liaison with Accommodation department and Student Services Manager
  • Induct students to the residence, including fire procedures
  • Ensure residence rules are adhered to and student discipline is maintained, in liaison with Residence Supervisor and Student Services Manager
  • Ensure welfare, safety and security of students at the residence in liaison with the School
  • Ensure students aged 16 and 17 follow Under 18s guidelines and Safeguarding procedures, including adhering to 23:00 curfew
  • Deal with students' queries and provide information as required in liaison with School
  • Ensure security of the residence and furnishings/ property
  • Be on call available for emergency contact in case of incident
  • Report incidents or concerns immediately to Supervisor and Student Services Manager (or School Principal) and record all such incidents
  • Adhere to all procedures in operation and any other general duties as required
