About the Role:

Rowhedge and University of Essex Medical Centre have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active receptionist to join the team, on a part-time basis, for 30hrs a week.

Rowhedge offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in student health, alongside general practice.

It is a split-site practice, with campus-based health centre and dispensing village practice and is a pilot site for _Pride in Practice_.

The practice consists of an established team of 4 partners, 4 salaried GPs and 1 retainer.

Responsibilities will include booking appointments, greeting patients, answering queries from patients and outside agencies, signposting to appropriate members of staff, updating patient records, processing correspondence and liaising with patients using various different types of communication methods.

- have experience of working in reception, ideally in primary care, or have relevant experience in a customer service role.
- have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have good social skills.
- have a friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors, either in person or over the telephone.
- have a good standard of education, including maths and English

You will also need to have flexibility to cover other shifts for colleagues.

About Us:

The Colte Partnership is a GP super-partnership, formed in June 2017, bringing together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring to serve approximately 98,000 patients.

With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.

As well as general practice, we offer extended access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and social prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.

We also work as three collaborative primary care networks (PCNs) which span across Colchester and Tendring:

Ambrose Avenue Group Practice, Riverside Medical Centre & Ardleigh Surgery
Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre & Rowhedge Medical Centre
Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre & Wivenhoe Medical Centre

There is a varied socio-economic demographic served within this area, which provides an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.
