We are a well-established financial services organisation and an industry leader in our field.

Due to continued business growth, we have a new role available as a Legal Advisor working as part of our wider Operations Department as part of the Legal and Complianceteam.


The Legal Advisor will assist the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer with the provision of legal services within the business, working alongside the Compliance Manager to provide support as and when required on legal matters.

The main duties of the role will be as follows:

  • Provide advice and assistance to staff on any legal enquiries
  • Provide advice and guidance upon and review contracts entered into by the business to ensure the business and the security is appropriately covered form a legal perspective
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the conveyancing panel members
  • Responsible for the maintenance and updates to the conveyancing panel
  • Responsibility for ensuring Lender Exchange is well managed and kept up to date
  • Working with Lender Exchange and responsible for ensuring adequate due diligence is carried out on the conveyancers, new and existing
  • Attend market and regulatory seminars and feedback to the Legal and Compliance department on key topics
  • Undertake adhoc projects as and when required
  • Ensure records are updated and maintained in accordance with agreed policy and procedures
  • Work to agreed objectives, service standards and deliverables whilst adhering to company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Be passionate for improvement and change within the business
  • Deputise for the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer on any legal matters
  • Must have full and up to date understanding of Conveyancing practices
To be successful you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven track record of working on conveyancing matters
  • Understanding of contracts applicable to landlords, tenants and buy to let activities
  • Good up to date knowledge on conveyancing processes
  • Understanding of applicable legislation and regulations
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and keen to learn and develop
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential
  • Able to be selfmanaging in respect of scheduled workload
  • Passionate about service delivery
  • Confident self starter with the ability to build positive relationships

We offer a salary up to £45k plus discretionary annual bonus, contributory pension,healthcare and Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm working hours with some hybrid working too.
