- 1 permanent fulltime position.
- This is an exciting opportunity to join the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) as a Forensic Multimedia Production Officer. Working with a busy team, the role is based within the Imaging Unit at Calder Park, Wakefield.
- The role is responsible for creating eye catching presentations for showcasing digital evidence as part of criminal investigations. Working alongside Police Officers, including detectives from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Teams throughout Yorkshire and the Humber and beyond, it is suited to anyone creative and interested in crime scene investigations and the subsequent evidencebased material collated for Crown Court prosecution of offenders.
- The use of an Electronic Presentation of Evidence (EPE) allows all forms of digital evidence to be placed into a custombuilt package which is specifically tailored toward the needs of the case. This method has become an essential tool in the courtroom. Since 2002, West Yorkshire Police has been presenting major trials at courts using an EPE, utilising the latest methods of imaging techniques and bespoke presentation software.
- This role does not involve the actual presentation of evidence in court, only the preparation of supplied visual evidence.
- The aim of using an EPE is as follows:
- To reduce trial times and costs by delivering evidence quickly and efficiently.
- To present complex evidence in a visual way to the jury so that they are better informed.
- The types of digital evidence the team often uses in presentations includes the following:
- High resolution images
- scene photos, maps, plans, interactive QTVR, forensic exhibits
videos, reconstruction videos, subtitled 999 calls/covert recordings, video recorded interviews.- 3D - body map illustrations for internal and external injuries, scene/event reconstructions.
- Documents cell site data, attribution charts, i2 charts, PDFs, spreadsheets, reports.
This service is provided to the West Yorkshire Police Force, but the team has the capacity to quote and produce presentations for other forces from any region.

- A starting salary of £28,530 rising to £30,375 over 4 years.
