Job description
NRW's purpose is to pursue the sustainable management of natural resources in Wales, this means that the work required of the new Contract Management Support Service (CMSS) will be extremely varied in interesting.
NRW's CMSS will support contract managers across a range of contract types, inclusive of, but not limited to, purchase contracts, grants, partnerships, leases and management agreements.
NRW undertakes work relating to flood risk management, conservation, recreation, commercial work and land management activities.
The CMSS and its team members will play a vital role in the delivery of the NRW Commercial Strategy and Contract Management Plan; implementing best practice in contract management across NRW, promoting the benefits of a compliant, flexible process that achieves value for money for our stakeholders.
Knowledge and experience of the following:
Minimum CIPS Level - Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations or Government Contract Management Capability Programme (CMCP) Foundation Level Accreditation (
Desirable)
If not already held, the Foundation Level must be undertaken and passed within 2 months of commencing the role.
Be aware of relevant legislation and contractual mechanisms in relation to contract management compliance, sustainability and social value.
Excellent IT skills and experience of using an ERP / Finance or Contract Management System in the past 3 years.

Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to effectively and professionally communicate with all our internal and external customers.

Experience of supporting or managing contracts in the public sector.

A basic understanding and awareness of the Contract Management Professional Standards and the technical areas of expertise
