An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sleep Physiologist to join the team in the Sleep Service, Trafford General Hospital, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

The Sleep Service is a modern dynamic unit servicing a large area of the North West.

It has a CPAP user base of over 8,000 patients and provides a wide range of services including diagnosis and treatment of non-respiratory sleep disorders.

It is actively involved in the teaching of students on the PTP and STP courses at Manchester Metropolitan University.


The position will involve:


Performing and analysing in-patient and outpatient sleep studies (including respiratory polygraphy, full video polysomnography, multiple sleep latency testing, maintenance of wakefulness testing and actigraphy).

CPAP issue and follow up (face-to-face and remote clinics).

Teaching, training and mentoring of students and junior staff.

Supervision and line management of junior staff, stock control and procurement


The service encourages and supports flexible working (including home working where appropriate) but the successful applicant may be expected to cover evening and night shifts depending on service demand.
