CTLA are delighted to be a part of the Government's "Digital Demand Response Transport (DDRT)" initiative.DDRT aims to match buses to passenger demand, in rural areas, where traditional bus services are limited.
DDRT aligns with CLTA's aim of providing quality transport to reduce loneliness and isolation for those who have difficulty accessing regular public transport.
CTLA is recruiting a Mini-bus Driver, to work on East Sussex DDRT routes.Hourly rates of pay are £11.73, Monday to Friday and £17.60 on Saturdays.

Job Description:
Driving and Responsibility for Your Designated Vehicle.
- Drive CTLA vehicles, as agreed with the Logistics Manager and/or Customer Service Advisors.
- Give consideration to other road users when driving, parking and manoeuvring.
- Ensure mandatory vehicle checks are undertaken, every time a vehicle is used, to ensure roadworthiness.
- Report vehicle defects, in line with CTLA processes.
- Ensure vehicles are kept internally clean and tidy.
- Check vehicle equipment and documentation e.g., fire extinguisher, first aid box, SAIF forms.
- Ensure the vehicle allocated is secure at all times whilst in use.
- Ensure that the vehicle used has adequate fuel for the journey.
- Refuel the vehicle, as and when required or instructed.
- Ensure that CTLA transport policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure that the allocated vehicle has the seating arrangements necessary for the journey. This may involve installing or removing seats.
- Drive in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of passengers.
- Always act and perform duties in a professional and caring manner.
- Communicate with passengers and clients in a patient, informative, nonpatronising manner.
- Operate any passenger lift or other equipment that is used to assist passengers boarding and alighting the vehicle.
- Ensure wheelchairs are correctly located in the vehicle, using suitable equipment.
- Ensure passengers in wheelchairs are secured with a full lap and diagonal safety belt or other securing equipment.
- Assist passengers on and off the vehicle and if requested, from home to vehicle and vice versa.
- If required to collect fares on behalf of CTLA, ensure money is given to the CTLA office at the first available opportunity or placed in the safe at the weekend.
- Report any issues relating to the job undertaken, including complaints and compliments, to the Transport Manager and/or the Logistics Manager.
Undergo CTLA drivers training and induction:
- Midas Driver Training.
- HTST Safeguarding training.
- HTST Role training.
- Wheelchair Safety & Clamping Training
