We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Agent, known as a Scheme Project Manager at Story Scotland, to join our Story Scotland division based at our Blantyre office - and there has never been a better time to join

The Role

As a Site Agent at Story Contracting, you will be working within the Civils Infrastructure and Renewable Energy Team and will be assisting with the delivery of key projects for both public and private clients.

These involve the construction and refurbishment of trunk roads structures, scour protection schemes, access roads and infrastructure for hydro-electric schemes, battery storage and solar schemes, and various other civil engineering works across multiple sectors for various clients within the Scottish construction and renewables industries.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical and operational input to tender submissions, providing responses to methodology and logistics questions
Ensure that high standards of project HSEQ documentation are produced within the required timescales and signed off appropriately
Maximise commercial performance of our projects by identifying risks and opportunities and contributing to the CVR process each month
Ensure engineering compliance and lead the quality process on our sites by working closely with our engineers to ensure that check sheets and ITPs are completed and submitted correctly
Lead by example to embed high HSEQ standards on our projects, carrying out regular site audits and supporting the site manager to ensure that the Story behaviours are promoted on site, contributing to a safetyfirst culture
Attend prestart and project meetings providing updates on project commercial and programme performance
Work closely with the Project Manager to engage with our supply chain and be the key point of contact on our sites, ensuring excellent HSEQ performance
Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding client drivers to meet and exceed their expectations to achieve repeat business

Multisector experience of civil engineering schemes, with excellent working knowledge of the specification for highway works
Excellent commercial acumen, with experience of working with allowances and contributing to monthly CVR and profit bridge processes
Confident decision maker and experience of leading teams to perform at a high level
Working knowledge of various IT programmes, including Microsoft Office suite and AutoCAD
SMSTS 5 Day Site Safety certified preferred (training can be provided)
Full driving licence
Excellent communication skills
Qualified to degree level in civil engineering or HNC / HND
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
Willingness to work nightshift, weekend shift work and stay away from home when required
