Here's where you can help decide a better future for us all.An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician, with experience of working in a mortuary. The successful applicant will take personal responsibility for delivering the full range of mortuary activities.
The role
You will take responsibility for delivering a full range of mortuary activities and take personal responsibility for the undertaking of all duties related to admission, identification, and safe storage of deceased bodies for postmortem in accordance with the services procedures.
You will assist pathologists with postmortem examinations in-line with protocols, including high-risk cases when required and work out of hours on forensic cases as and when required.
You will work with community safety and emergency management to assist with the development and testing of emergency response plans.

About you
You must have a Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technician or equivalent APT qualification and have demonstrable experience of working in a mortuary setting. Experience in high risk and forensic post-mortems would be welcomed.
You will hold technical knowledge of mortuary policy, procedure, and human anatomy as well as a good understanding of health and safety legislation and working in compliance with SOP and HTA guidelines.
You will be a resilient individual, you will have the ability to deal with difficult situations and manage sensitive information securely.
You will have the ability to take an organised approach to your own workload, working individually and as part of a team, whilst dealing with conflicting priorities and ensure a customer service focussed approach.
