Description
To carry out routine maintenance and a range of building tasks,


The postholder will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs for a range of building services and equipment within the SCFT portfolio and to those to whom they provide a service.

Tasks may include roof, fencing, drain, and gutter repairs completed within a schedule of works and routine inspections.

They will work independently using their initiative and training to carry out assigned tasks.

The post holder will be expected to undertake semi-skilled duties using fault finding

process to enable effective maintenance and repairs to a wide range of plant and equipment as detailed


below:


  • Heating, hot and coldwater systems, wastewater systems.
  • Generators, air conditioning systems, firefighting equipment, emergency lighting systems.
  • Basic carpentry, lock fitting, painting, decorating, general building and roofing works.
  • Provides advice or demonstrates own workplace activities and routines to those less experienced or new to the work area.
  • Any other tasks within the competency and skillset for the role.

The postholder will be expected to fulfil duties including,

  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in work areas, workshops, and plant rooms.
  • Complete regular meter readings for utilities (gas, water, electricity), water hygiene checks, fire alarm and emergency lighting checks recording data appropriately.
  • To accurately record details of work completed using the Labour Management system. To ensure logbooks, registers, and other statutory records and timesheets are always updated.
  • A set of tools appropriate to the duties of the post will be supplied and maintained by the post holder. The postholder will be responsible for the power tools and access equipment provided by the Trust and for the maintenance and security of these tools.
  • Attend relevant training courses for role including statutory and mandatory training, engineering plant and equipment, and for selfdevelopment.
  • The post holder must use the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided and follow health and safety legislation including, COSHH and fire safety to ensure a safe working environment is provided. (Health and safety at work act 1974)
  • The post holder will be required to travel between SCFT sites to undertake duties.
